Mum's Nursery Quilt Collections

What do you do when your locked up with a virus taking over the whole world - other than sit and watch TV, Sky News and hear all the tragedy happening in every city & town across the world - people dying - a virus to attack the elderly or with low immunity - being us both!  We had no choice but to stay home.  Protect Mum and keep her safe from it.

So we did - and we sewd - lots of machine embroidery, came up with plenty of ideas, worried lots, sewd more - created and designed a range of baby quilts that we thought would be nice - sewd them up designed and made more ..

Here are our 3 Collections -  The Fairy Dragons, The Explorer's & our Jungle Collections.

We hope you like them and hope you can find them good homes and sweet little babies as I know its a lot to ask but I cant keep them nowing that I cant keep mum - I loved all the time we have spent together but reminders of them is painful and she would want them going to good homes.   She wanted nothing but to teach people - machine embroidery, sewing how to make the best quilts - she loved to create and make quilts.

This whole quilt thing started over a baby named Jack and a girlfriend that would visit mum weekly (during covid - when allowed) to learn more how to do her embroidery and make quilts - as the shop was closed and the restuarant gone - what better to do than make quilts and more ......

this is our explorer elephant quilt set & matching decor - as Mum sent us off to do baby shows over the past year.   She never got grandkids just fur-kids.

I just wanted everyone to know her as MUM and she's a great mum, like everyone's mum.

Thank you to everyone for your support - We wish you health and happiness - one stitch at a time.

Mum's Story

In 1996 she went to a patchwork class - ran for 13 weeks - they made 1 block in class so she would do homework and make 1 quilt from each block each week !   That's 22 quilts made in that time plus a lot (a real lot) of fabric buying as well.  She then entered one of these quilt and won and embroidery machine - that meant more $$$$ needed to buy fabric, designs, thread, stabilizer etc etc etc (oh and a few more embroidery machines too) as 1 Dream Machine was not enough with all the designs she wanted to embroidery - She could use 3 at a time - though some days they slowed her down as they all seemed to stop stitching at the same time!   Usually needing a thread colour change.    When she wasnt sewing - she would doodle quilts and make them up on the spot - then figure out what fabric she'd want then go and just stitch something - how do you do that ?  I guess that's because she had a knack - she made my clothes from the day I was born - designed uniforms for my primary school, had a sewing shop and dressed / outfited the channel 9 & 7 dancers in the 70's.  Knitted, Crochet, Hand embroidery, Cross stitch you name it - if it had a needle and thread she could do anything.  She never complained she still doesn't after all I have put her through she is just Mum - will do anything for anyone and give them the shirt of her back if they needed it.

Everything that Mum has done & did the only thing that made her really happy was helping others - answering there questions or showing them how to - sew / machine embroidery and I did push her - to make a sample every day of every new design then make them into something to show at Craft Shows .... We now have over 27 suitcases full of samples / quilts that Mum made.  Treat others with kindness as you expect and hope to be treated yourself.   Love Mum and pray she will be ok.  Peace and Joy to you all.
